First Lady Aleana Michelle Curney was reared in Jackson, Mississippi. Upon relocating to Atlanta, Georgia she married the love of her life, Jesse Curney III, Senior Pastor of New Mercies Christian Church in Lilburn,Georgia. They have four children, Jesse IV, Jiana, Jené and a spiritual son Joshua. The family resides in Lithonia, GA.

Standing alongside and supporting the vision God gave to her husband New Mercies Christian Church was founded in 2002 in Lilburn. We envision a Growing Church for Growing Christians whose mission is to communicate the gospel of Christ to the world and disciple the members of His body wholly. Today the church serves well over 7,000 parishioners who are making a tremendous spiritual impact in metropolitan Atlanta.

Director and founder of Crowned Jewels Women's Ministry, First Lady Curney is passionate about helping women discover God's unique purpose for their lives. "Finding our place in God's plan," she says, "leads to true fulfillment in every area of life!" Striking an analogy between the beauty found in precious jewels such as diamonds, rubies and amethysts that are often found hidden in difficult places, and the beauty found in the hearts, minds, and personalities of God's precious women, Mrs. Curney helps women to embrace who they are in Christ, while also helping them to overcome personal setback. "It is through some of the most difficult times in our lives that we position ourselves to be polished and refined by our Heavenly Father!" First Lady exclaims. She considers every woman of God a "Jewel in HIS Crown!"

While the she is actively involved at New Mercies Christian Church, she is also actively involved in her community. A devoted member of the Stone Mountain-Lithonia Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., the organization prides itself in increasing the educational and career opportunitie of today's youth as well as spearheading public service projects throughout various communities.

Spiritually and professionally, Mrs. Curney has received numerous outstanding awards. It is her own personal relationship with God that she attributes success both personally and professionally. Her mottos in life are "Never accept no fro a person that never had the power to give a yes." and " It is not something you become; it is who you have always been."
